Objectives Of State Climate Action Cell

  • To focus on the three pillars of climate action: Prevention, Adaptation, and Mitigation.
  • To provide guidance to concerned departments and local self-government bodies of the State for the implementation of the National Climate Action Plan (NAPCC), State Climate Action Plan (SAPCC), and Mission LiFE, and to monitor their execution.
  • To coordinate with various stakeholder organizations, including the Central Government, Local Self-Government Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), environment-related research & development institutions, and international financial institutions.
  • To consult with stakeholders for the implementation of the State Action Plan on Climate Change, including experts, corporates, and other organizations.
  • To monitor the implementation of District and City Climate Action Plans.
  • To compile state-level climate change data and suggest development initiatives based on the findings.
  • To act as a nodal agency for initiating green initiatives across the state.
  • To create awareness about climate change among citizens and stakeholders.
